The GSK Basic safety course certificate have te be repeated every 4 years, within 8 years.

Refresh the knowledge and get the certificate renewed

The training must be repeated every 48 months by everyone who works on Norwegian continental shelf. Personnel who have not completed the refresher course within 4 years must take this before departure. If this is not done within 8 years, you must complete the GSK Basic safety course over again.

Certificate provides several options

Course participants will receive a certificate after completing the course, approved by Offshorenorge. That provides opportunities to take more specialized emergency preparedness courses further.

Prerequisites

Must have taken the GSK Basic safety course or refresher course during the last 4 years.

Implementation

Teaching time:

Horten

08:15 – 16:00

Other locations

First day: 10:00 – 16:00

Second day: 08:30 – 16:00

Exam/test

A final exam. Also requires participation in all theoretical and practical exercises.

Content

Upon completion of the course, participants must have repeated basic knowledge and skills about:

HSE-culture and correct safety behavior
Prevention of occupational accidents
Use of relevant fire/rescue equipment
Lifesaving first aid
Collective means of evacuation
Proper use of life jacket with breathing lung
Helicopter evacuation (HUET)

Course certificate

The course certificate will be delivered when the course is completed and passed. Valid identification must be presented.

Repetition

In order to have a continuously approved certificate, you must take a refresher course every 4 years, within 8 years.

Practical information

Bring a towel and an set of underwear on the last day of the course. If it is cold outside, also bring full-coverage underwear in cotton or wool.

Change of course date

Have to be agreed up to 3 days before the start of the course during office hours: 08:00-16:00

Deregistration

Must be done trough a deregistration form.
You can cancel up to 7 days before the start of the course.
If you get sick, a doctor’s certificate must be presented.
No attendance at courses, requires full course fee.
